JOHN PREATOR was raised in Provo, Utah. Demonstrating a passion for music and theatre early on, his mother claims that by age three, he could sing the entire score of Gilbert & Sullivan's H.M.S. Pinafore. Onstage leading roles came as early as elementary and continued on through High School, culminating in a BFA from the music dance theatre program at Brigham Young University.

Following graduation he relocated to New York City where he joined the Actor's Equity Association, resulting in performances at theaters all around the country. Favorite roles include (Ravenal) Show Boat, (Curly) Oklahoma!, (Marius) Les Miserables and (Jimmy) Thoroughly Modern Millie. Most recently he played the amusingly-tortured John Jasper in the Maltz Jupiter Theater's production of, The Mystery of Edwin Drood

In addition to his theatrical work, John has also been able to share acting and musical talents in front of television cameras. In 2004 he qualified as one of 32 finalists, alongside Fantasia Barrino and Jennifer Hudson, to perform on Season 3 of FOX television's global phenomenon, American Idol. He has since performed in concert alongside David Archuletta, Christiane Noll, Karen Mason, Brent Barrett, N'kenge, Nick Adams, Shoshona Bean, Reba McEntire and more.

Early in 2022 John made his episodic television debut as "Brock" on CBS' "The Equalizer" starring Queen Latifah, Liza Lapira and Adam Golberg.
